About Emily Post Brieve

My family

I am a wife and mom. Mark and I have been married since 2005. Our two sons, Micah and Jonah, have taught me love, patience, and pure joy. As a mother, it's very easy for me to be Pro-Life. I strongly believe all life is important and valuable. I choose to protect all life - the unborn, the disabled, the elderly, all lives that God created. The value of life does not depend on looks or abilities - there is innate dignity in every human life.

My inspiration

I am very blessed to have the support of my family, including my grandparents, Frank & Bernice Deppe. They are great examples of community leadership and stewardship. My grandpa is a WWII Veteran with an incredible work ethic and entrepreneurial mind. My grandma may be little, but she is a mighty rock who raised four children to become successful adults.

Accomplishments

Supporting structurally balanced budgets year after year.
Maintaining the AAA Bond Rating from S&P Global and Moody's Investor Service for 23 consecutive years.
Approving the Project Elevate plan to add new gates and concessions to accommodate passenger growth at the Gerarld R. Ford International Airport.
Waiving Restaurant Licensing Fees for 2,294 food establishments in Kent County due to significant hardship experienced during closures and capacity limitations related to the pandemic.
Disbursed CARES COVID relief funds among small businesses, schools and municipalities that struggled to stay open.

My Passion

I am passionate about bringing people together and collaborating. Since being elected to the Board of Commissioners in 2014, my colleagues and I have been able to accomplish several things to improve Kent County and positively impact our community with the help from people in both the public and private sectors. I am a firm believer in bringing all voices to the table and working together for the best possible outcomes.
